i have just recently got a network controller/adapter and it works fine. on the panel there is a network cable that i use, two little green lights that both work, and another plug that looks like its from an old vcr. i dont know what it does. could someone please give me some information, because being a computer bug, it might come in extremely good use for me. thanks for all your help.

If i'm not mistaking you are talking about the Coaxial plug which used to be papular before the UTP cables which you are using now as i understood from you.Today the papular cables are UTP and you dont have to worry about the Coaxial plug you dont need it.
