Comment: Please can anybody help with the installation trouble I'm having! I'm trying to install a NETGEAR FA311 adapter, I'm running.....wait for it... yes WINDOWS ME. The card has been recognised, but when I try to install the drivers with the network wizard, after it finds the appropriate drivers and I click NEXT install the pc hangs? (wizard not responding) Has anybody experienced this or can anybody help? All help very much appreciated, thanks!

Reply: (edit)Network wizard? Do you mean that windows is trying to instal the driver for you? I don't know what you've tried, but here's 2 ideas: #1 If you have net access, ingore the hardware on reboot,go to the E/M's webpage and download the latest drivers. R'click on the my comp, device mgr, d-clk the netgear dvc, click update driver, "let me specify location" and point to that driver file. (The mfctr webpage usually has newer drivers than the cd that came with the device.) #2 In the dev mgr, does the dvc have a green ? or a yellow ! either way if there is a settings tab, clk it, and see if there is an IRQ conflict. You may need to change the IRQ range. If so, contact netgear tech support or the OEM. you don't want to just play around with these settings. Hope this helps
