I downloaded the program Webwasher from the net (to stop pop up ads) and immediately after that Netscape 4.7 would not load. I get the message "the automatic configuartion file could not be loaded. Use the configuration from the previous session instead? ok or cancel" Either choice does nothing. So I downloaded Netscape 6.2 and it would not work. So I downloaded 4.7 and it still gives me the same message as before. I tried to uninstall Metscape through Windows ME and it is not listed on the add/remove programs menu there. Please HELP.

You might try going in to the Current User and current machine section in the registry.........then go to the software subsection and delete the Netscape and Netscape Communicator sections......then try launching Netscape again.......if it launches you will have to put your settings back in again etc. If it wont launch then try reinstalling it......that should fix the problem. To get to the registry....type regedit in the run menu off the start button at the bottom of your screen.

hello you can goto my computer and right click chose explore and look for net scape in programs and or in explorer list. next you need to goto start,run,type regedit,hkey curant user,soft ware and delete it out of there next close that box back ,goto hkey loacal machine,software,and do the same. reboot. see if net scap is gone have a nice day
