Everytime, the first time I connect to the internet when starting up my computer, zonealarm blocks 5 to 12 attempts from netbios and netbios (datagram) to connect to the internet. Is this normal? Why does it do that? Thanks for any help.

Some applications require server rights in order to receive, and send to connections on the Internet. You can assign the application server rights in ZoneAlarm's Programs Panel.
Try that first. Also one major issue is dont leave the internet lock on all the time, it does a lot more than block the internet. It can cease local file and printer sharing, also NetBIOS calls from within applications are blocked.
The program doesn't appear in the program list, never did ZA ask for server rights or allowing to connect to the internet for this netbios thing. Also, my internet lock isn't on. I use high for internet and medium for local (I have been hacked once on this campus connection before I got ZA, so I really don't feel like setting security lower). Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
