Install your version of Nero, but before you use the Nero program, go to the Ahead Nero website and download and install the latest version 5.5.10.7b+patch of Nero(free upgrade). Then try to use the program, and please post back if you need further assistance.

Thanks for reply Capt but no joy I'm afraid >>> The nero executable file was modified Maybe your PC is infected by a computer virus! We would recommend to use the latest antivirus software to check your PC. If no viruses are found, please do a full uninstall of Nero, and reinstall from the original CD.

To explain in more detail, the above Nero error is exactly as displayed. and is ongoing for 2 months, original CD with new CDRW, all previous CDRW s/ware completely removed inc Registry references virus scan done with latest S/W found 3 instances of JS.exception.expoit (sets home page to different address) these were removed. Installed Win ME on new hard drive and installed Nero, same problem !!! downloaded upgrade to latest ver, tried upgrade various CRC errors in upgrade display. In desperation I changed my bios settings to down rate my AMD athlon 1400 CPU to 1050 by telling it the ram is only 100, not the 133 that it actually is. (512mb) Motherbord supports both 200/266Mhz FSB. Back to Nero 95% of time it loads, and have done upgrade with no CRC errors, alter bios settings back to what they should be, WHAM!!! loads once then back to error msg. If your not asleep by now Thanks for reading all this
