BettyJean, think you'll find that each CD is machine specific and what works on one won't work on another machine since the recovery involves the registry and each is different. Do you still have restore under programs>accessories>system tools>restore? If it is still there, you will find an option to create a new disk using your settings.

Thanks ED for your response I was told that if someone had same pc such as mine windows me millennium that the system restore cd would probally work on all. As long as I had my product key numbers, as I do..Yes to your question I do still have restore in my pc but all my files are messed up and or missing such as I cant use the help page anymore and I cant display my pictures in my Pictures. and I cant do anything with upgrades I get the microsoft has caused a problem and will need to close. My pc came with windows me installed already and I didnt get a windows me reinstall cd with it only the concentric system recovery cd. Dont know what to do.... Help....BJ

BettyJean, seems to me that if you use someone else's recovery disk, you would recover their directory and settings as opposed to yours. What happens if you simply restore to a previous date (you have several to choose from) rather than create a recovery disk? If the restore is sucessful, you can then burn a new recovery disk.

Use a friend's computer with Windows ME or Windows 98 SE or Windows 98....
All will work as Windows ME is basically Windows 98 SE and 98
So...
Once you have your new BOOT DISK;
then....turn off your computer
put boot disk in the floppy drive and reboot your computer (turn it on)
When it is up to black screen ...
CHOOSE>>> Start with CD ROM support
then...at the A: prompt>>>>type C:
then hit enter
then at the C: prompt>>type
SCANREG (hit the space bar)/RESTORE
hit enter again...then
CHOOSE ONE OF FOUR RESTORE DATES
HIT ENTER and let it restore
when it is finished
remove the boot disk and reboot your computer by hitting the RESET BUTTON (not the power button)
It will hopefully restore windows back to a good date!!
Let me know and good luck!!
