It's an old PC (bought new in 2000) but I've never had a problem with it. The problem is trying to find a printer to replace the HP printer that came with the computer - the printer has crapped out.
I've been to Best Buy - all the big retailers - even my local PC shops in the area. They all say the same thing: You're going to have a problem finding a new printer that works with Millennium. What's mentioned most often is drivers.
My question is: What printer can I buy which has drivers compatible with Windows Millenium?
There must be a way to do this. :)
Thanks for your advice.

The people you're talking to about ME compatibility aren't going to have that info memorized. So rather than just saying 'I don't know' and maybe appearing stupid they give you the XP story.
If you want to know about compatibility just look on the side of the printer box. It'll give the info there.
I think there's a good chance that new HP printers won't have 9X/ME drivers as they've dropped that support from their web site. So look for other brands--Canon, Lexmark, etc. You could also look into used ones.

Use the printer manufacturer (epson in this case) support sites to determine what drivers are available for what models. Then find a place that has them in stock.
That Epson C88, above, is an example of a printer with 9x/ME driver support and in stock somewhere.
Amazon is a good place to start to catch the older stuff, good prices usually too.
Edit: If the Epson support page (top) link doesn't work. Then go to the top of the page and look for...Drivers & Support >> Printers >> Ink Jet >> C88 >> Drivers & Downloads >> Windows - to look at supported drivers.
Obviously, substitute the C88 with others till you find another candidate with 9x driver support if you don't like that one.
