Comment: Been using Outlook Express for many years. Out of the blue and without warning a problem has occured. All emails that have clickable links are not working. If I click on an email link, I go nowhere. Somewhere a setting must have been changed. If anybody knows how to fix this please let me know. I know I can reinstall the program, but then I would lose my addresses in my address book. That's would be a big problem. Thanks to all. Al

Reply: (edit)Can't remember the exact layout of OE5 but if there's a "Tools" tab, click that and go to "Options" then check and see if you've accidentally prevented html or another similar option etc. Aside from that... I would just upgrade to Outlook Express 6 by going to the Windows Update web site. By upgrading, it will maintain your current address book and all saved emails. After you've installed that version, make sure you go back to Windows Update for any/all service packs. It's important to have the current version because of security issues.

Reply: (edit)Al, be aware that one of the default settings in 6 blocks 'attachments that may contain a virus'. That includes links & pictures. The setting can be adjusted under the security settings. Are you SURE you are still running 5? (look under 'about'). HTH. Ed in Texas.
