Why can I get into a website like ebay for example, But when I try to go to ''my ebay'' I always get a page cannot be displyed.Same whe n I try to access my yahoo mail.I can always get to main page of a website but nothing past that. I thought I would try to use the recovery cd But mine is gone.

gordon4aday, since you can get to a related site with no problem, that pretty well rules out a hardware problem and puts it in the software realm. My feeling is firewall. Could you have gotten a nasty that reset yours?

There is no firewall on this comuter, Where can I get one for free or reasonable, triplets in the house has killed my budget and a computer that needs a good aditude adjustment.All I want to do is get back into ebay but I am trapped on the main page.How do I find if I have been infiltrated by the naughty's??

gordon4aday, surfing without a firewall is a virtual guarantee of infection. If I were you, first I'd go to an online cleaner like housecall and let it do it's thing, Then I'd download an AV like AVG or Avast! (either, not both), both are good and FREE. In your case, I'd also get/update/run A². You've likely got a Trojan.

Be sure you update each prior to running so you have the latest. I'd make it a practice to NEVER surf the web without a firewall, mine runs all the time and updates often autmatically.
