"my pictures" keeps on forgetting to set the default view as "thumbnails". the default view is "large icons". does anyone know how to fix this? i know that this situation has happened time and again, so hopefully someone has a quick fix ready. "large icons" is my default view for all other folders, and i like it, but i want to see "thumbnails" in my pictures folder. i've already tried checking "remember each folder's view settings" in folder options, and i've already checked the "desktop.ini". there's nothing wrong w/ that file.. so does anyone know how i can get my pictures to open up showing thumbnails every time? it worked this way once, i don't know what happened. now it only shows thumbnails when i make it...

unfortunately, no..the thumbnails work fine, it's the fact that the "my pictures" folder won't set it as the default view! thanks though!

Try going to Control Panel/Folder Options/View tab and select "Reset All Folders".

hello right click on picture choose properties,and choose open with.

I had the same prob for ages, i also had "remember each folders view" checked but made no difference, what finally worked was unticking "remember each folders view" clicking ok, and then going back and ticking it again. But being stupid it took me months to think of this, haha
