My game port is messed up

Hi I have a joystick and it wont work, and when I try to use it or configure I get this message "Your game port or game port drivers are not properly configured, please consult the device manager.". Do you know what I have to do.

You may have to check you have the latest driver for the joystick. Go to the manufacturer's website and check there. Also i think this error messege may signal incompatible hardware (not completely sure though).

Take a look in device manager:
Right click My Computer. Choose Properties. Click on the Device manager tab.
Click the plus sign by Sound, Video, and Game controllers.
Make sure your Gameport is listed there without a problem.. If it is not... or if there is a problem, reinstall your Sound Card Drivers.
