I have just noticed that My Documents icon has changed. It has changed to a folder with a hand under it( a shared folder)
I have ran ad ware and spy bot search and destroy, and nothing has changed it back. Even when i right click on it i cant even look for the CHange Icon tab, its gone. I dont understand how it changed.
I also have ran a virus scan and found a virus called W32.HLLP.SPREDA.B and i have deleted it also ran a trojan scan and i have no trojans on my puter.
Could someone help me and tell me why My Documents is being shared
Thanks
Kim =)

right click on my documents and then click on shareing... then make sure to unshare this directory, if that doesnt solve it it just may be that the icon was changed and you need to go into the properties by rightclicking on your desktop and clicking properties and changing the apperance properties, there you can change the my documents icon, to make sure your not sharing anything unwanted at the run prompt type in \\localhost this will show you everything you are sharing, i'm not too sure if 9x supports hidden shares sho it should be everything

I can right click on my documents but it says nothing in there about sharing or not sharing the folder
aslo i did right click on my desktop and go to properties, apperance, and i can not find anything in there to change the apperance on my icon
It would be nice for some more info and any suggestions on what i can do
Thanks
Kim =)

Hi Kim:
Right click on desktop.
Click properties.
Click on the "effects" tab.
Click on "My Documents" to highlight it.
Click Change Icon...
Click the one you want to highlight it.
Click OK.
Click Apply and/or OK.Good luck.

Thanks it worked
i thought i had a virus that was sharing my documents and i have asked lots of people what to do and they all said just to run scans and more scans.
Thanks for the help
Kim =)

Your welcome Kim and thanks for posting back.
Letting us know what worked helps everyone.
It's greatly appreciated.And by the way, you provided the clues.
And you checked for viruses. Always a good idea.RandyL.
