Hey try Saving this as cdopen.vbs and then run it, it should open your cd draw

Dim WMP: Set WMP = CreateObject("WMPlayer.ocx")
Dim colCDROMS: Set colCDROMS = WMP.CDROMCollection

If colCDROMS.Count > -1 Then
For i = 0 to colCDROMS.Count - 1
colCDROMS.Item(i).Eject
Next
End If

If the drive won't open when the computer is starting and still in the POST/ bios stage, some program "to open it" won't do any good, and anytime you smell bad things, it's a bad sign.

Most drives have a small hole for a paper clip.......

With the power OFF repeat POWER OFF GENTLY insert the paper clip until the drive tray starts to move open.

Stick it in the little hole on the front of CDROM and push gently until tray starts to open.

As everyone else have seen it's a very SMALL hole SOMEWHERE underneath the CD tray. I have a CD-ROM and a CD-RW drive, and they BOTH have a very TINY hole below the tray. Here is a pic to illustrate what we all mean.

Look exactly to the immedite left of the eject button there is a little hole next to it. It's between the eject button and the COMPACT DISK logo thing. Stick a paperclip (bend it straight) and stick it in the hole gently and the drive should open up and you can remove the disk.

Faris,

Hi, I'm Having a very similar problem. The only differance is I haven't done anything bad like the original poster so there isn;t a disk trapped and there is no funny smell. Still, The Drive wont ioen. When I press eject it just whirs like its opening, but nothing happens and after a moment it clicks and stops whiring. I tried the paper clip thing, but to no avail. Please help me if you can.
