Hello.
My CD Drive (D)has totally disappeared from my system. When I put a CD in the drive the light flashes for a few seconds and then stops. I cannot find D Drive on My Computer or System Summary. I am using a Toshiba Satellite Laptop with an integral CD ROM drive.
Any ideas what I should do? I'm trying to load Wanadoo. Thanks

I have lost my CD Rom drive about 4 or 5 times. It doesn't even register on startup. Here is what I was told to do and it has worked for me everytime.

Take off the cover to your computer and wiggle and push the wires connected to the CD ROM drive.

Mine always feels like it is a tight connection, but since it will work after doing this, tells me that it wasn't tight enough.

Also before you do this and while you have the cover off, you might want to take a can of air and blow out all the dust and take a vacume to it.

Hope this can help.

just follow the directions like before and another thing you can try to do is go into the device manager in safe mode and uninstall the cdrom from there and restart the computer if the directions above and removing from safe mode still do not fix it more then likely you have a bad drive

you're welcome

download Tweak UI from www.microsoft.com

run it, click on my computer, then click on drives, then tick the box of your CD drive.

then go check it out.

hope this helps.
