My Mustek 600CU scanner was installed using original CD driver, no problems before, but since I re-installed windows (As DISPLAY.SYS and IFSHLP.SYS files were either not found or corrupted), it doesn't read TWAIN. I'm on a Compaq Deskpro intel pentium 2, using adobe Photoshop 5.0 to access TWAIN (Technology Without An Intelligent Name)Source by Import, but firstly the applet tells me "cannot find scanner. make sure the cable is connected" and the 2nd Applet states "Cannot open TWAIN 32 source. Make sure there is a valid source for your scanner in the TWAIN directory found in Windows directory". I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver.....why won't it work?

I find Windows Me does not like scanner software. I had a similar problem. Completly uninstall the the scanner and let win me detect and install it's drivers. Do not install the cd drivers that came with your scanner. Then use Photshop to scan your photos. This defeats the purpose of scanner software that came with the device but it worked for me.
