Is it normal to show multiple kernel32.dll's listed under running tasks in MSINFO32? My system locks up for about 1 second every 5-10 minutes or so even if I close all programs. I though this may me the problem, any ideas?

You are most likely having IRQ issues. Remove all cards except video then see if you get a clean boot. If you do add your cards back in one at a time. If you don't come back here!! ....Good luck!!

Perhaps this is related: My problem is that I consistently get errors in Kernel32.dll with certain software titles. I'm running ME and I've installed a number of new titles on my new system. The ones I've ran into trouble with are:

ms visio.
visual cafe
javac from the jdk1.2

I also have 3 kernel32.dll's running on my system. I know of another person who also has 3 running. I have a Gateway PIII, 800mhz with Backup and Restore loaded. I think that is why there are 3 kernel32.dll's running - one for the OS, one for Restore and one for Backup. This is just my thought. I've never really got a response back from anyone, but like I said a friend of mine also got a Gateway and has 3 running.
