that winsck.ocx is a windows library file for the winsock TCP/IP stack, you may want to reinstall tcp/ip and associated packages..

You will have to install the ActiveX 6.02 or later ,it will install the winsck.ocx

Mswinsck.ocx is not a windows library file, it's a visual basic control used to allow programs written in visual basic to use winsock like functions. it is distributed with all version of microsoft visual studio and it can be distributed, search for it on the net and you'll find it. ActiveX does not neccessaryily install mswinsck.ocx

Well I tried to find it myself and after much difficulty decided to just upload it , you can get it at http://www.skyenet.net/~cbeelby/pente/ , and maybe check out my little game (based on a real game) which uses the winsock control.

David: it goes anywhere really, You might want a ocx register. but might as well insert it into C:\windows\system

Just downloading that file won't be enough, when you install tcp/ip, you already have the file mswinsck.ocx in your %windows%\system folder. You can rename that file to winsck.ocx, either way, it still isn't registered.

Download the mswinsck file at:
http://www.skyenet.net/~cbeelby/pente/

and stick it in your windows/system32 or system directory

and do the following steps:

To register an OCX or DLL:
Select START on the Windows task bar,

Select RUN and type:

Regsvr32 "name"

Where "name" is the name of the OCX or DLL you are attempting to register.

Then select OK.

Provide all control dependencies have been correctly installed and register, this should successfully register the OCX or DLL
