Reply: (edit)I had the same problem develop around the 12/9/04. I followed all the above advice without success. I then down loaded Niresoft Solutions freeware Windows 9x/ME Task Manager Version 0.9.7 BETA Release. I left the Error Message on screen and ran Task Manger which allowed me to discover the process causing it - RTCRTP.exe. I unchecked RTCRTP in msconfig and then deleted RTCRTP.exe. Problem solved - no more MSScriptControl:Unknown Error. I hope this helps you
