Hey,
I recently just got MSN 9 dial-up for my grandmother's computer that has windows ME and I am having a problem. When I sign in under my name to connect to the internet everything goes fine it logs onto my name, and I am connected to the internet. I even see if I have e-mail or not, but there is just one problem. The second I am connected to the internet, an error message pops up and it says something like "Your internet connection is (messed up) and your modem might have a connection problem or you internet connection is bad", something like that and the title says MSN messenger (you know the title as the blue bar on the top of the error message). I know the modem is fine because I am connected to the internet and if I exit out of the error it can surf the web fine. The only problem is that it pops up every time for no reason. I tried writing a different connection dial up number to dial and it still pops up. My MSN 9 is fine, but the stupid message pops up every time I sign on... PLEASE HELP ME fix this message from popping up! :(

Scaarface, SWAG, do you use Messenger? If not, disable it and see if the pop-up goes away. Messenger tries to connect and maybe it can't for some reson or another (ZA blocking, trying to connect twice, wrong number, etc.)
HTH.

Also, i thought it may be the wrong number, so i called the MSN tech, and they gave me a number to use and it worked but then after restarting, it popped up again so i think your right about it having to do with deleting the messenger, even though i repaired it. I guess in the worst case i might have to delete it if you think that is the problem.

Hey Scaarface... Dislike being the bearer of bad-news, but... I USED MSN & OTHER ISP'S, & EVERY-ONE... has a negative-or-two, (or three!) MSN gave me "dead" access tel #'s more-times than I wish to count! THEN... Earthlink wouldn't connect-me!!! I eventually wound-up @ AOL (which I don't really like), BUT I AM CONNECTED EVERY-TIME!!! (Prob. is, I'M ALSO D-CONNECTED WHEN D/LOADING SOMETHING!!!) LEMME-ALONE I-SAY!!! After replying to you, gonna post my own message abt the d-connecting-thing I just told you abt. GOOD-LUCK! DAVE
