can anyone tell me in dos when pressing dir i know it show directory but what is this directory used for and what does it do is it important how can i understand it i really cant tell what is for.
It's to show what's in the directory. There also dir /w, dir /s and dir /p, to have it dsplayed in collumns, have the whole directory including subdirectories or something, and to have it screen by screen respectively
