Hi

I have a couple of questions concerning my selective startup on my computer. I only selected the files that are necessary to load when i reboot my computer. I notice that everytime that i reboot these programs load again and again. I usually have to go back into msconfig to disable them every time i reboot. Is there any way to get around not having to do this every time i boot my computer? I also noticed that i had a file in the startup that i am not familiar with. I have listed the file below and if anyone could give me any info on what this file is i would greatly appreciate it. I will disable this file and when I reboot my computer it is enabled again like the other files.

C:\PROGRAMFILES\ORNUM\AORNUM1\1.BIN\AORNUM.exe
Thanks

I don't know what that prog is but you can try here...
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm
Lists the progs that can be prevented from loading at start up.

Ive never heard of a program file/folder named Ornum. Do you actually know what this folder is and what program its supposed to contain or is this a mystery folder? Google turns up nothing.

If you dont know what this folder is i would scan for a virus. If you dont know what this folder or program is why is it on your computer? Check add and remove programs and see if you can uninstall it. If not just delete the folder and get rid of it.

Heres where you can download a Regcleaner, which can clean up a lot of stuff, including starup items:

Hope it helps

whoknowsagain,
you said some of these items are loading again even after you uncheck them in msconfig start. check to make sure they aren't also listed in your Startup folder and if so remove them from there. (Start, Programs, Startup) Some progs are listed there also and will reload them even if unchecked in msconfig

whoknowsagain,
You may want to look into a program called *start stop* Search and download from google.
This program will let you control what will start up and can be changed at any time without a reboot.

Also a good Idea to look at the options in each program and see if you can also choose to de-select from startup there.
This may stop them from wanting to load again.
