i cant get msconfig.exe to run! it wont run from the run prompt or the exe itself :(
Is this one of ME's little features to stop us getting to close to our settings, and does any1 have any idea how i can open it (i really need to stop some of this junk ive got from running on startup)
ive searched and seen an eariler post with the same problem, but i cant get msconfig to work AT ALL even when i go through the tools in system information.

Hit CTRL + ALT + DEL and see if it's listed there as not responding; is it simply not running, or is it freezing?

i tried that ctrl+alt+del was empty except for explorer, its as if it starts to open, but then closes itself immediately as soon as its loaded.
Is there any other way to modify your start up programs?

Just a guess here, but if you do a search for msconfig.exe and regedit.exe,do the paths appear to be correct?

Does the fact that Explorer is the ONLY thing loaded have anything to do with it?

Can you start other executables for the Run command such as defrag or scandisk?
