Hi,
I went to use Microsoft Word 2000 this afternoon and when it opened up all the menu's and toolbars have disappeared.
The whole lot - all the buttons with pictures AND the bar with File, Edit, View, Help, etc.
All I have is the bar at the very top of the screen "Document 1 - Microsoft Word"
Then the top ruler
And then the blank page for the new document.
I don't know what has caused this as I am the only user of this computer.
I have also not made any changes at all to anything on the system.
Not even installed it.
Yesterday it was fine. Today it isn't.
I've tried replacing the normal.dot file - no luck.
I've also uninstalled and re-installed but that made no difference either.
Anyone got any other ideas ?
Thanks

At the top of the MS Word screen click on View, then toolbars. Whichever items have a check mark next to them are what will display in the toolbar for MS Word.

Thanks for the post Zoomie Mike.
That's my problem.
I know I can recover the other toolbars from there.
But I don't even have the File, View, Edit, etc. menu there. so it's currently impossible for me to go to View Toolbars.
Thanks all the same.

I had the same problem - 3 times!!! Finally solved it with this. Easy to follow and worked first time.
Good luck.
