I cant seem to log on to AOL 9.0. i get a message that the required file MPRAPI.DLL is not found? I can log on to AOL 8.0? I tried to reinstall the 9.0 but the same error comes up. Any thoughts??? i must have done something somewhere along the line to mess it up. I'm running Systemworks 2003. thanks Rick

Hey Rick - I have the exact same problem. I installed some kind of internet protector called PivX QwikFix and Peer Guardian around the same time this started happening. I'm using 8.0 becuase of the missing MPRAPI.DLL..If you find the fix please let me know, thanks

I too had the problem with MPRAPI.DLL not found when starting AOL 9.0 after installing Qwikfix. Disabling Qwikfix and uninstalling didn't help. After trying many different possible solutions I finally tracked the problem down to a different file. IPHLPAPI.DLL (version 5.00.2195.6602). After restoring a backup which was version 5.00.1717.2 I was able to start AOL 9.0 again. This version of IPHLPAPI.DLL is found in NET7.CAB of WIN 98SE system disk. Go to Microsoft's DLL Help Database which lists all current versions of IPHLPAPI.DLL and where to locate a copy for your system.

I have the same problem. I just installed a linksys router at home, and it works with my tablet PC just fine. Then, I added a a wireless network Linksys card to my laptop PC which runs windows 98, and installed AOL 9.0, and keep getting this error message. I found the reference to the IPHLPAPI.DLL file on Microsofts website, but could not locate a downloadable version. I guess I will have to go in search of those old win 98 disks....
any other ideas? thanks!1

Microsoft's DLL Help Database:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=/servicedesks/FileVersion/dllinfo.asp
You need to expand/extract the IPHLPAPI.DLL file from the net7.cab located in the \win98 folder of the Windows 98 or 98SE installation CD (if you're lucky, someone copied the net7.cab file to the harddrive; do a Find/Search first).

I fixed the problem on Windows 98SE simply by searching the hard drive for IPHLPAPI.DLL, which listed a newer version in Windows\System than the one in the AOL subfolder, so I renamed it to something like "IPHLPAPI.DLL original" and then copied the one from the AOL subfolder to Windows\System, and then AOL 9 would start fine again. If the machine was Windows ME, I may have had to turn off Windows File Protection, as it might have automatically replaced/updated IPHLPAPI.DLL in the Windows\System folder to a version that AOL9 chokes on.
