Is an MP3 file the same as MPEG? I am new to the audio stuff on my computer and will welcome any help.....TY

same principle except mpeg is video and mp3 is audio.

mp3 is an Mpeg3 audio format file. Mpeg1, Mpeg2 and Mpeg4 are video formats.
