Subject: mozilla freezes up for 5 secs.OS: windows MECPU/Ram: intel pentium 4 1.7 GHz / |
Comment: Hello there, every now and then when I use Mozilla , it freezes up for 5 seconds and it is very annoying because it happens all the time. Also sometimes I get a white box which says that Mozilla has caused a problem and I have 2 options: Close and Ignore. If I click ignore multiple times, the program continues to work. If I click on Close I get a windows error (yellow caution) saying that mozilla has caused a problem with GDI.exe.Can anyone help? thanks

Reply: (edit)What version of Mozilla are you using (help>about Mozilla)? Like so: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041028 Firefox/1.0RC1 (MOOX M1) Is this a clean installation of Mozilla or did you install "over the top" of an older Mozilla installation? You could try a new Mozilla profile; if you are using the Mozilla Browser Suite and not Firefox there should be a shortcut to the profile manager in the start menu>programs>mozilla>profile manager. Click manage profile and create a profile with a name different than the original and see if the problem persists.

Can you reproduce the symptoms?
