Hi, I use Mozilla firefox 1.0 and whenever I visit random sites or when I click on the bookmarks menu, I get an error that asks me if I want to close the program or ignore. If I hit ignore multiple times it goes away and the program continues to work, but if I hit close it gives me this error message:

I don't have ANY spyware or viruses. I use spybot as well as adaware, bazooka, AntiVir, AVG and spysweeper. I did a clean install, not over the previous version. I've also had the GDI.exe error in other programs, like adobe photoshop elements. I've heard that adding a new mozilla profile could help, but I don't know how to do that. The people at Mozilla couldn't help me so I thought I'd try here. Thanks

A new profile wouldn't help if you get the GDI error in other programs. There's a 99.9% chance it's not a virus or spyware/adware, since you appear to have none.
To make a new profile (disclaimer: i haven't used anything 9x/me in a while):
1) Right click on the desktop shortcut and click "Properties..."
2) Go to the "Shortcut" tab
3) In the "Target" box, at the end (after the quotation mark) put -profilemanager
4) Click OK
5) Start Firefox. Click on the "Manage Profiles" button or summat. Make sure "Don't show this dialog" is *not* checked when you select your profile and clock "Start Firefox".

If you have not, try clearing cookies and cache- firefox -tools/options/privacy.
to add profiles go Start/run in box put
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"/p
Your path may be different.

Hi,Christie
Are you my identical twin, because I have the same exact problem except I run win98se.
SAME SAME same problem.. I can google for random phrases and receive that same error.. I am no step closer and have gone through a lot of stuff..
I am currently awaiting a reply from Microsoft on the matter..

Have you tried using the original Mozilla instead of firefox to see if you get the same error message? I have set up Mozilla 1.7 on many WinME machines and never had a problem. I havn't tried firefox yet.
