Comment:

When I booted up my computer (Hewlett Packard/WinME) low and
behold, for no reason at all my display was set to 16bit color
and 640x480 resolution, and no mouse control at all. I have
figured out that the mouse problem was caused by my vmouse.vxd
file going M.I.A. i have replaced that from my CAB files using
msconfig. Whenever i change the display settings, Windows
automatically requests to be restarted, regardless of the
setting to apply without restart.
When i try to change the setting as to how to prompt when the
new display settings are applied i get the following error.
"There is not enough memory to run the file deskcp16.dll. Please
close other windows and try again"
I have managed to find One referance about this problem but it
was located at a French website (
http://www.hoaxbuster.com/hliste/avril/04yahooavis1.html towards
the bottom look for "Keul - Strasbourg")
Any assistance you could supply me with would be greatly
appreciated
I am using Norton Internet Security 2002 w/ an active Firewall. I constantly update my virus software every week running Norton AntiVirus v 8.07.17c

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping that there would be another way to fix it, but i tried your suggestion, and it did indeed fix the problem. There were no viruses found, so i hope it wont occur again in three days (which is how far back i went). Thanks again

Phillip
