I have a custom-built PC from a local vendor. Since Windows ME was OEM-installed, I cannot get Microsoft to help me. My local vendor never answers my calls. I was hoping someone could help me with my problem. I cannot use my mouse in Safe Mode. The arrow pointer appears on the screen, but I cannot move the mouse, and clicking it does nothing. I tried to fix this by installing Release 4.01 of the Intellipoint software. Didn't help. I suspect a driver conflict may be causing this, but don't know how to check it out and fix it. (Please, no changes to the registry! I have enough problems right now. Thanks!) Sounds like the mouse may be a USB mouse. In safe mode the drivers for the USB port are not loaded, hence no mouse. When you need to enter safe mode you will need to hook up a PS/2 or a serial mouse.

OOPS! I meant to state that I am using a PS/2 "Microsoft IntelliMouse Pro" mouse. I know about the USB problems with Windows ME. Since I have a PS/2 mouse, I can't seem to figure this one out! Thanks!
