Well I've looked everywhere (?)and still cant find anything.
Sometimes lately when I open up my browser the pages will only load while the mouse is moving. If I stop the mouse the page stops loading until I start moving it again.
Did a scandisk this morning and the same thing there!!! I stop moving the mouse and the scandisk stops until I start moving the mouse again.
I click on start and none of the menus open up unless I click on them. They should automatically open to the next level.
Right now everything is fine but it is one of those 'here now, gone later' problems.
I installed sun java the other day and that's when the problem started. I HAVE to have sun installed to access a government site (legally) and during the installation of the certificate I had to move the mouse in a certain area. I presume this was to create a random file of sorts.
I can't find any new programs running in the background etc. that may cause it.

Does anyone out there have any ideas???

BTW I know jacks**t about java.

It works for me

hello
yoou might need to do system restore to point befor this happend. not seen java cause this might have been an incomplete d/l and in stall. you could try uninstall the java app and reinstall it this time with absolute minimum apps running.

Tried that Dave. As I said the problem comes and goes. But only upon restarts. I removed the java and it seemd to be okay, did a system restore to before the java install and it still seemed okay. Reinstalled the java and everything seemed okay until about three reboots later (off for the night) and then it reared it's ugly head again. I have installed absolutely nothing else. I think I'll just remove the java for a week or so and see if it recurs, unless someone out there knows of the existance of fix for the problem.

Systematically removed programs one by one and reinstalled till I got rid of the problem. Forgot that I'd had an error with Spybot S&D about the time the problem started. Can't remember exactly what the error was. Anyhow, after removing and re-installing version 1.3 beta 6 completely, registry cleaned and all, the problem has seemingly disappeared. One to keep in the back of the mind maybe......I am wondering if the immunise feature had something to do with it????
