The mouse arrow freezes at some position on the screen. The mouse is still operating but arrow is locked in position. Its a Compaq using a 1.2 ghz Athlon, ME op system with 1.5 Gbyte memory (3-512 boards); tired Compaq mouse and Hp mouse and 2 diff drivers. Seems to occur when multiple stuff going on; minesweep; online on yahoo and/or ICQ but will also freeze (seldom) just after booting. To correct must reboot. Cntl key still shows mouse is functioning ok.
tks
Al

I had this same problem. After formatting and reinstalling about 8 times, the problem has vanished and my PC works perfectly. I've scoured every forum and FAQ i could find and nothing seemed to address my problem. sorry i couldn't help.

hello
to many badly writen programs being used at the same time plus you most likely have spy ware and ecessive junk files.
and if you want to clear this up. you can try rebooting to clear junk from cache and ram or and i recomend or you can try these linkz

have a nice day

I have the same mouse freezing problem since yesterday. I have a Dell XPS B800r with 128MB RDRAM running windows ME, and my mouse is a "Logitech Mouseman Wheel". Everything ran great. I had a cable modem installed by Adelphia. Ever since, I can hit a few web pages (about 5 minutes worth usually) and then my mouse pointer stays frozen on the desktop (yet I can still move an the invisible mouse around the desktop and highlight and select things, but the actual visible pointer/arrow stays frozen on the desk. Ughh!!! This has been repeatable ever since (3 days now). I have also upgraded to 512MB RDRAM but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I'm thinking it is a combination of ME and Logitech drivers (since I've found two other posts regarding this combo and this same symptom!), but since this combo worked before the cable modem was installed, some software for the modem must have "triggered" the symptoms I'm seeing. The only way I know of to get rid of it is to restart my computer, but every 5 minutes.... HELP!!!! I'm in the same boat and am in desperate need of a solution. I'm currently trying to find and reinstall the mouse drivers from logitech for ME, but am not thinking that is going to work based on the feedback from this forum. Any other ideas if that doesn't work?
thanks!!
eddy ;)
