i have just read that me only supports 512 meg of memory i have 512 and was going to add another 256 meg dimm will this cause me problems or is there any way to get around it. (i have a athlon 1.2 gig pro a-bit kt7 raid motherbord and run me)

In order to use more than 512 meg, get the freeware program cacheman. The problem is that if you get more than 512 meg, Me allocates too much memory to your vcache and you wind up not having enough memory for your apps. With cacheman, you can physically allocate your vcache so that you will be able to use all your memory.

Or you could just manually edit your maxfilecache and minfilecache settings as per the instructions in Microsoft's online knowledge base.

you will not have problems if you disable the memory in excess of 512 meg (and let it sit idle there) Regards Miro
