When turning on the computer the monitor light is green for a second or two, then goes to yellow, and a blank screen. Regardless of what monitor I'm using, I tried hooking up the computer to 2 monitors that do work, and the same thing happened. Any ideas?

Sharanell, the fact that youare running Win Me, as do I, would indicate... it is an older machine? When did you last clean it out, or have it cleaned. if tyou are uncomfortable doing that--it should be done every 6 mos or so--most places like CompUSA will do it for $20. If you want to do it yourself:

To clean:

1. shut it down and unplug it

2. NO VACUUM CLEANER--static may fry your motherboard

3. Buy a can of canned air ($7 max),

4. Take the PC outside, or, if inside, near a window with a fan blowing on the PC and out the window, and wear a dust mask...nasty VERY unhealthy stuff that dust.

5. Be mindful of the temp of the can, it will get colder if you move it quickly or aggitate it--don't aggitate it. Try not to turn it on its side--no more than 45 deg angle. DO NOT turn it upside down or the inert ingredients will squirt out, and if they are cold enough from moving the can you could possibly freeze and damage something on the pc. bend the little red stem a much as possible to get into hidden areas. If the can starts to gets cold, leave it for a while until it warms back to room temp.

6. no liquids or damp rag anywhere near it. Use a dry dust cloth and GENTLY wipe out the bottom of the case.

7. There are differing ideas about hitting the fans with a direct spray from the air can--some say it is not good for the fan bearings. I don't see that, but, better to error on the safe side--use a thin wood stick, like a popsickle stick to hold th fan blade while you blow out the fan areas. This is where you'll thank me for reminding you to wear a dust mask. Make sure to get all the dust out of the fan blades and housing.

8. Make sure everything is seated and you didn;'t blast anything out of socket or setting.

9. Once you are done, leave it for a while and go do something else, then come back to it, and you will see more dust. Repeat as above.

The same thing happened to me as well!
Now how do You actually Re-set the Video card?

Don't take everything so personal online...ESPECIALLY since You can't even SEE who's being offensive!
