monitor turns off

my monitor turns off after i use the computer for a while. the little light is still on that says the monitors is no but the screen is black. And nothing else messes up. what could be wrong? why does it turn off? Can someone please help me? thanks

If you have a friend with a PC or access to one , try swapping out the monitors. In other words take your monitor and hook it up to another PC and see if it does the same thing . If it does,probably time for a new monitor ! Perhaps it works OK till it heats up then it goes black. Also have you looked in device manager for any yellow ! marks. Good Luck ,Nick
