Comment:

I want to get a new monitor, but do not know if my display adapter can only handle a conventional screen or can I get a widescreen monitor.
Here are the resolutions it can handle:
High to lowest

1280x1024
1280x960
1280x768
1280x720
1152x864
1024x768
800x600
640x480

Since this computer is 2001 vintage, I am thinking it can only handle a conventional size LCD monitor unless I change the display adapter.
Thanks for any input..

The last driver update for the TNT2 available thru nVidia is Version: 71.84 dated March 11, 2005. Check the release notes for supported resolutions.

This update does not support NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro graphic cards. The update is for NVIDIA's GForce graphics only.

Thanks anyway...

Where does it say that? According to the support list for driver version 71.84, the TNT2 Model 64 / Model 64 Pro IS supported. Here's just a partial listing:

"Product Support List Windows 9x - 71.84

TNT2
TNT2 Pro
TNT2 Ultra
TNT2 Model 64 (M64)
TNT2 Model 64 (M64) Pro
Vanta
Vanta LT"
