As of a few days ago,
my monitor will not turn on.
When I go to turn on my computer,
the tower will turn on, but when I
turn on my monitor, it goes from a
green light, to the orange light,
as if it was in sleep mode.
I've heard from several different
people that it could possibly
be the video card, or that
I need to put in my start up disc,
which I don't have anymore.
If anyone could please help me out
with my computer dilema, I would
appreciate it greatly.
:]

Hi Patty, sorry, but I don't really have a good answer for you. The usual procedure is to try the monitor on another computer or another one on yours, or, try another video card (yours may on the MOBO). I work on computers and have seen a CPU fail and cause the symptoms you are having where the fans are spinning and all the lights are on but the monitor light goes to orange. You could also be having overheating problems, if it's an older computer it may be dusty inside.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my daughters problem. When I removed the side panel... and looked inside... gezz we have a dusty house.
Dust was packed in the cooling fins of processor... and the fan. Cleaned everything up and it started back up... no problems.
Once again... thanks for the response.

I have an innovation Mag 710v2 monitor, I recently installed win xp home on my computer the monitor works fine except, on startup, the monitor menu comes up to new mode 72 and stays on until I manually override it. Any answers on how to stop it from doing this. Thanks
