Hi, I have a question for you guys. Im planning on buying a pc from a friend for my mother and im trying to test it out and all and i noticed that when i hook up my monitor to it (Compaq CV735) that it only displays 16 Colors and there is no option to change it. This has me a little worried since im not sure if the graphic driver portion works on the pc im planning to buy. The pc he is selling is a "home built" and not a factory one,so could this be why my monitor wont work on it ? I tried installed the drivers for the compaq monitor,but i noticed that my monitor runs off of "Intel Graphics Controller" and the other pc doesnt have that on it. But my question is,is it just not working because of the monitor im using ? Im planning to buy her a monitor in the next month but dont have any other type of monitor to test it with.

I forgot to add the other PC shows that the monitor is running off of SIS. (Whatever that is lol)

It's not the monitor you need to worry about, but the display adaptor/graphics card. It probably just needs the drivers reinstalling (in this case the Intel graphics controller by the sound of it) With the correct drivers installed you should be able to change resolution irrespective of the monitor.

hello goto the device manager and remove the monitor from device manager and reboot. allso look for an other problems in there. ••• Resistance is invigorating! •••kill spyware
