Modem Problems

I have been having some connection problems with my modem. A few months ago I bought an Creative Labs Modem Blaster V.92 PCI to replace the original which was a Conexant HCF V90 56K RTAD Speakerphone. I deleted the old modem and then installed the new. My Modem Blaster is listed under MODEMS as COM 3. Under Device Manager and Ports(COM&LPT, I have listed Communications Port (COM 1)which has the following drivers, c:\windows\system\VMM32.vxd (vcomm.vxd) c:\windows\system\Serial.VXD c:\windows\system\SerialUI.dll
Is this causing a conflict with my modem and can I safely delete this? Thanks.

I am not 100%, but I think that these are all virtual windows drivers used for any modem. I would not delete them.
Check with your ISP and see how their servers connect (V90. KFlex, X2).
Chances are that most of their connections are only one of these types. (For example, If your modem is dialing v90 and most of your ISP's conections are x2, you will have to put in a modem initialization string to force your modem to use x2).
Your ISP should be able to walk you through it.
