Can anyone help with a problem i have? i have just recently changed the case on an old PC i have....nothing else has changed just the case but when trying to get the modem to respond i get a blue screen and the PC reboots. The Modem is working OK as i have tried it in another PC and the system recognises it but when checking more info or getting the modem to respond it just crashes the PC. I have deleted it and reinstalled it, changed the PCI slot it is in but still the same problem.

The only thing I can think of right now is that the drivers are bad or outdated. Go to your Device Manager tab and remove the device drivers (delete the modem) and restart. If needed, insert the cd or floppy that contains the drivers, otherwise it should install themselves. I would check the manufacturer's site for the modem to see if there are any updated drivers.
