Hello all

Recently my pc got infected by the t.rack bug
(which i tried to clean it myself by deleting its dll , sys.reg and the registry entries)
i ran pest patrol n found
cws msinfo ,another RAT called memory manager 2.6
and alexa. though the trial version does not clean these bugs..just scans the hard drive.
I tried "the cleaner" but it finds no trojan.
Unfortunately i can not format my hard drive right now n re install windows cuz my cd drive doesnt work too, n since i have no idea about hardware instalation my only option is to
send my pc to shop. Though i cant do it right now.
So, the first part of my request is if anyone knows n can suggest me a program
to be able to clean these bugs.

Besides that about a week ago my computer started making a constant moaning noise,
this noise gets decreased when i leave computer alone for long n its getting worse when
i start using it
-especially when i open files or programs-
I know my pc suffered alot n moaning :) but i'd like to know what causing this noise
Its really disturbing!!
any advice would be greatly apreciated

tina,
since i started here, i am constantly bewildered by the posts people have been posting here, I have never heard 99.9% of these IT problems. I have to say again this is unique.

The most probable cause for the moan sound, is the hard drive. Basically the only thing inside that moves, and since your cd drive isnt working it has to be that or could be the a drive.

The reason for this would sound like a dyin hard drive or a drive, what ever got in there really hurt something bad in my opinion, could be in your ram by now. I dont think any software is capable of fixing this problem.

Sadly your probably looking at a repair job, a switching of hard drives or a drives, or worse the mother board. These repairs could cost you alot, and I hate for that to be caused by some ignorant childish moron, who thinks he's cool by hurting people with his/her knowledge of programming.

again im sorry, i wasnt much help and a bearer of bad news. perhaps someone more IT-ish can help you better.

Some answers are pretty bewildering too.

A moaning sound from the case is most likely a dying fan. It could also be something came loose and is against the psu or another fan (and causing a vibration). Drives are not spinning all the time and would not cause a consistent sound. I would recommend keeping the pc off until you get it looked at. If it is a fan and it dies, you could be in for more problems (depending on which fan it is).

Viruses can effect your bios and boot sector, but not your ram.

You can go to the download page of www.wilders.org for many anti-trojan programs. Some have free trials.

efabes,

Hmm, I think it's the one that doesn't let you turn the computer off (shut down).

No, my mistake, it's the one that packs it's suitcase with a battery. You know the type, the one's there for the long haul. Yes, like some relatives ;-)

All in fun everyone. Good luck with your computer problems.

Agree with efabes.......moaning computers are quite common and it is almost always the fan dying. Replace it quickly or it will damage the PC with overheating.

CWS and Alexa will be caught by 'Spybot' and
CWS Shredder. memory manager 2.6 will be caught by F-prot Anti-virus. These three programs are free.

Try the free version of AVG from grisoft.com or maybe thats grissoft. By they way I could probly find an ancient 5 1/4 inch floppy that is infected with the "stoned" Virus which screws up your hard drive access and suprizingly enough none of the modern virus scanners can clean files that are infected with these older viruses. I have to dig out my ole 386 which runs windows 3.1 over dos 6.2 and use the antique virus scan on it, which will make the programs work in most cases.

Moaning PC, give the fan a blowjob with some canned air, usually fixes the moaning as the fan will probably be completely covered in a dusty fuzz, also make sure to clean off the rest of the interior components especially heatsinks with the canned air(Heat Sinks are Solid Pieces of metal inside your comp, usually located under a fan on top the cpu, they will have a solid base that looks like a flat square plate with fins coming up off of them) the dust/fuzz overworks the fan which sometimes causes the fan to tip on the bearings and buzz, also the fuzz/dust on the heatsinks screws up the heat dissipation that is supposed to occur from your heat sink. Viruses can run in ram, and they would stop your computer from being shut down, as once ram has power cycled, it erases itself Randeom Acess Memory, that is why when a computer freezes, and you reboot it it usually works fine afterwards, the ram has been emptied of partial programs, and usage. Hard drive infections are most common, "Bios" infections are extremely rare unless you meant cmos?

sure, send your computer to code one, I'm sure he's already found sale for it. Some people are all take.

PC is personal computer, CPU is what will be damaged. I was looking for technical help myself but this is the blind leading the blind. I would suggest checking out a different website for info.
