I recieve that same text you describe everytime I run Dr. Watson. Notice the word "if" the taskbar is behaving strangley ! Basically I would ignore the part about the taskbar ,I have read post from others and it seems when Dr. Watson cant find a problem on your system , it always displays this notice. I now have Norton Utilities and I will run Dr. Watson and recieve that message again .I will then run Norton System Check and it will display "no problems found on your system at this time" Thats after the frist scan , that found a dozen or more problems and repaired them .Dr.Watson did not list any of these problems , which leads be to believe its not that reliable of a utility for checking your systems status ! Take Care,Nick

If I were you I would throw out every piece of Norton junk you own and pretend you never had it. More PC are ruined or crippled by all their system and disk tools than are helped. With the exception of Norton Antivirus, they have nothing else usefull to offer.

The Dr Watson "mmtask error" is a bug of some sort in ME. I've seen that message on hundreds of ME computers. Ignore it. If you're have some sort of error or are having a problem, let us know what it is and we will try to help.

I totally agree with Jimi_l. Norton System works (2000 (not compatible), 2001, 2002... doesn't matter) will seriously *mess up* a system. Especially ME. Use the antivirus software and throw the rest in the garbage where it belongs. Or get really familiar with FFR (fdisk/format/reinstall).

hello
i use norton corpate edition and have veary few if any problems with norton.
and norton speed disk for m.e is a god send it will defrag the swap files in real mode and not safe mode like m,e defrag. and it never hangs nor do i need end it all to make speed disk run.
i instald norton onto a clean install of m.e.
i tryed it on a buggy tweaked and hacked out copy and had many problems .so if you add a large program to a screwed up system you will most likely have problems. and most likely have them any ways
my 2.7 cents cd.
