That's the System Hive of an NT/2000/XP operating system. Not ME.

Use this article from the Microsoft KB to troubleshoot:

Error Message: Windows Could Not Start Because the Following File Is Missing or Corrupt: \Winnt\System32\Config\System.ced

Swapping out the system hive from the recovery console should get you back up and running.

I have a corupt file could you help when trying to save picture from my digital camera to a cd I get an error file is corupt date and time error. what is the cause and how can I fix this

when I try to install windows XP it freezes shortly after the reboot during setup and tells me that system32\hal.dll is missing or corrupt please reinstall. What can I do?
