My Dell computer with windows me will not load up- I get a black screen with the following message: C:\windows\system\vmm32.vxd program missing or corrupted was working fine the last time I used the computer, tried the windows restore disk--it wont even spin...Thanks for the help

make sure first booting device is set at CDROM at the bios.

Hey whats wrong with replacing the corrupt file. Why would the file be corrupt. You should probably do scandisk with surface scan to see if the drive is going out.
