hello our sony vaio is acting up, my sister turned off the computer and when we turned it back on the screen had very bad color, like in safe mode, and the video settings couldnt be changed, so we decided to put in the recovery disk and application disk, it so happens that the computer said there wasnt dos on the computer, so somethin happened and now when we turn on the computer is says sony then goes to the screen that says the things on the comp (example = pci adapter or whatever etc.) then it says missing operating system..... i cannot go into bios or anything it wont let me type anyhing and i hav no floppy drive on it so i cant put in a 98 boot disk in or anything, can u use cd's as boot disks? like can i copy whats on the 98 boot disk and burn the files onto a cd?????? what should i do? cuz even now when i put in the recovery cd it says escd or somethin successful and then it says missing operating system, please help, thanx

You should be able to get into setup to access your recovery utility - I believe those sonys have a partitioned drive with your restore (master recovery) on it correct? You can boot to a cd by the way - so hopefully you made a startup cd, or you have a copy of a windows OS? Either way, you need to access your bios to change the boot order to cd first
