Hi there,
I messed up the systeminfo nfo file (Don't ask..., it's missing now) So I can't use the system info program anymore.
Any idea how to solve this? Preferably without reinstalling Windows ME.
Many thanks in advance

Hi HAL, thanks for replying.
Well..
My tv pc card (Pinnacle, shared IRQ?) freezes my system (every time it accesses my hard drive for some reason).
This time I thought to open Watson while it happened. Therefore I just had opened systeminfo. Guess what; my system froze and am now without nfo file after reset. Not to be found on my system anymore.
How can I make systeminfo to search my system again and collect relevant data?
Many thanks again in advance.

It's not that big a deal to reinstall Windows Me over itself. It will only overwrite system files, and you don't lose your data. Takes about an hour.

You could try to restore your registry to an earlier point and see if that works first. Have you tried system restore? To restore the registry use a boot disk to start the computer and get to the dos prompt. then type scanreg /restore and press enter. You will get a list of 5 registry backups to choose from. If one of them is from a time before you lost the file, it might work.
