Missing MFC42U.DLL in Windows ME

I've got a dual boot - Win98 & W2K. If I try and open System Resoure tool in WinMe i get a message that MFC42U.DLL can not be found. I found this file in W2K folder but apparently different version as it would not work with wME.
I've tried all that I've found and have been led to but so far have got the same error message: "The appl or DLL can not be loaded on Win95 or Windows 3.1. It takes advantage of Unicode features only on Windows NT."
Does WinME need this...and if so why can't I locate it on the WinME install CD?
Where can I get a copy of MFC42U.DLL for the Win Me OS?

Dale I posted you this reply earlier on your old post.
I have searched my system and MFC42U.DLL does not appear to be in my system. Are you sure it is a windows Me file. But if you need a copy you can get 1 here

Is your dual boot on the same partition or on different partitions?
If the Operating systems are on different partitions, they shouldn't have anything at all to do with each other.

I know. Same partitions. When executing MSINFO32.exe (system information tool) I get the 'can't find mfc42u.dll message. And all of the ones that I have found or have been told where to get one say that it's not a useable .dll on WinMe.
Summary: I also got a problem with shell32.dll in windows Me. I installed Adobe Photodeluxe that can't run. I receive a shell32.dll missing error message. Got any ideas? By the way Starr I am trying your tips ...
