I recently formatted and reinstalled winme on my sisters hp pavilion. Not sure if this problem is new or if something happened during install. When she opens windows explorer, and clicks "folders" on the toolbar, for a folder view on the left hand side view pane, its just a big gray box with the close "x" in the corner, no folder listing. It wont show drive and folder listings on that left side pane???????

Hi,
NOT TO WORRY: This really threw me when it happened to me. I spent hours and hours desperately trying to figure it out. The solution is SO simple: Just do another download of Internet Explorer 6 from the Internet.
Try it, you'll like it! Don't take off anything first, and don't worry; it won't mess up your settings. You just download as though it weren't already there.
After I finally figured this one out, I was told that it's really fairly common practise to do a second download on top of the first. Apparently little bits of data get lost or corrupted "in the mail." The subsequent download goes where no data dared before.
The fun part is when you get your nice divided folders back again! --WOW!!
