Comment:

I am running Windows ME and have a missing file "VBScript"

This is error upon windows boot up":

Can't find engine "VBScript" in c:/program files/support.com/client/server.vbs

The missing file makes it impossible to open many applications?

Is it simply copying this missing file from another computer to mine that'll fix it.

I can find no trace of the file/s you mention on this system. Have you installed/removed any new programmes of late. This looks suspiciously as though it could belong to an application of sorts.

That looks like a virus. It really, really looks like a virus. I can't think of anyone nowadays that writes VBS scripts and sticks them in the RUN keys except virii writers.
