Hi,

This really isn't a computer problem, but I don't know where to look. I've been missing important phone calls while online. I don't have a second phone line. I was wondering if there is anything that could tell me when a call comes in? Something to download or some component to buy? Thanks for reading my message.

I know there a few programs available, I beleive one is available through aol. I dont use one because i have a cable connection, but i know a few people that do and they tell you when there is a call and i beleive it also has caller ID. Sorry i cant tell you were to get them or what there called.

Get in touch with your local tel office. you ahev to have call forwarding or call waiting, I forget which, to use these features but they are around. I got this on a google search for "online call waiting":

call waiting is the key but you also need a v.92 modem and Modem On Hold (MOH) software. If your ISP supports v.92 you can stay online and make/take a call.

http://www.modemsite.com/56k/v92moh.asp gives good info.

I just recently saw a machine from AT&T that does exactly what you want. I can't remember the name of it, but it was at Wal-Mart near the cellphone and Call ID machines.. No special software is required.

Give that a shot. :) I'm going to get one myself...
