Microsoft Picture It Express Error

CPU/Ram: 256
Comment:

When I try to go on to Microsoft Picture It Express 2000 I get the following message:

Picture has caused an error in PICAT.DLL.
Picture will now close.

Does anybody have any solutions? Thanks in advance.

PI2000 Error Message: Picture Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Picat.dll

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start Microsoft Picture It! 2000 or Microsoft Picture It! Express 2000, you may receive the following error message:

Picture caused an invalid page fault in Picat.dll.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if either of the following conditions is true:
The Artgalry.mmc file is missing or damaged.
Microsoft Media Manager is installed on your computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.
Repair Microsoft Clip Gallery
For information about how to repair Clip Gallery, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

If the issue continues to occur, proceed to the next method.
Uninstall Media Manager
To uninstall Media Manager:
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Media Manager 1.5.
Click Add/Remove.
Click Remove All.
Click Remove All Custom Annotations.
Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall Media Manager.
To work around this issue, prevent the Catalogs from opening when you start Picture It! 2000:
Click Start, and then click Programs.
Right-click and drag the Picture It! icon to the Windows desktop, and then click Copy Here.
Right-click the Picture It! icon on the desktop, and then click Properties.
In the Target box, append the following switches to the command line:
/nocatalog

/nointro

For example, use a command line similar to the following text:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Picture It!\picture.exe" /nocatalog /nointro

NOTE: The /nocatalog and the /nointro switches are outside of the quotation marks and there is a space between the closing quotation mark and the first forward slash (/).
Double-click the Picture It! icon on the desktop.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
The Picat.dll file is used by Picture It! 2000 to catalog pictures.

NOTE: The cataloging process starts before the Picture It! 2000 interface is displayed.
